More About Jennifer!

Hi! My name is Jennifer and I am getting ready to spend a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a New York University student majoring in Media, Culture, and Communication. I am a member of the Global Media Scholars Program which allows me to study abroad for two semesters as well as a capstone abroad experience for a few weeks. This is my second semester abroad as I spent my first one in Paris in the spring of 2012.  I am from Detroit, Michigan and I come from a family of five. I am looking forward to living with a host family, especially one with a dog. My host mom seems like she is nice and is looking forward to meeting me. I am also excited because she has a daughter that is only a year younger than me. Hopefully we can become friends and she can show me the best places in the city. I am extremely nervous about how long it has been since I have had to speak Spanish. Hopefully the family will be understanding and I won’t be too embarrassed.  Packing has gone well. Luckily I was able to bring only one checked luggage so I shouldn’t have to face any fees. Last time I went abroad I had to check two bags. Either I’m getting better at packing, or the lack of thick winter sweaters makes a huge difference (most likely it’s the latter  no matter how much I would love to believe it’s the former). This blog will inform readers about my experience of life as an American expat in Buenos Aires.
